infant CARE PROGRAM
3 Month - 1 Years Old
Our infant room provides an environment for your child from age 3 months to a year. This room has eating, sleeping, and play areas. The goal is to make the routines you have at home transitional to the school environment as much as possible. Our nurturing and caring staff have taken the required infant classes along with CPR and first aid courses.
We believe constant communication between parents and teachers can benefit the child in a multitude of ways. We use an app called Smartcare as a way for parents to keep track of their child’s daily progress. Smartcare allows teachers to send photos, videos, and daily reports of the children, and parents can message the teachers instantly with any questions or concerns.
More than just preschool, at Pine Island Montessori we are focused on keeping your baby happy, engaged, and secure. We personalize care for each infant based on his or her unique schedule, nutritional guidelines, and any other special attention he/she requires.

Skills That Children Will Learn
Children learn about their world through the use of their senses. In our Infant classroom, activities that focus on discovery and exploration will facilitate just that kind of learning.
The infant room will concentrate on cognitive and motor development, which will be integrated with music, reading, singing and interactive group and individual time.
Indoor activities promoting intellectual stimulation are planned based on the developmental stage of each infant. Movement is encouraged to help infants develop their fine motor and gross motor skills. Children are closely monitored as they learn to crawl and grasp things.
Throughout the year, infants have their own every day curriculum based on different themes that they focus on based on the season. Every monthly lesson plan is also different and provides infants with new experiences. Parents may expect daily verbal and written reports on eating, reading, changing schedules, sleeping, and new developments. Each infant has his/her individual crib. Bottles & baby food, disposable diapers, wipes, creams, crib sheets and blankets must be provided by the parents.
