Our Story
AAt Pine Island Montessori, our teachers embrace the Montessori philosophy which holds that mastery is best achieved through student-centered investigations:
· exploration of their environment
· interaction with and imitation of older students
· repetition and fine tuning of motor skills
· and the situational awareness derived from trial and error
“Helping Children Become…” is so much more than a slogan here at Pine Island Montessori: it is the heart of what we do. For over twenty years, our staff has sought to help children reach their full potential as engaged students, enthusiastic explorers, and global citizens. To that end, our curriculum is built on a Montessori foundation that incorporates the principles of child-centered learning with an emphasis on tactile experiences and sensory-motor activities.
